Warhawk Testimonials
What people are saying about the Ohio Warhawks!
Brian Roberts (Baltimore Orioles)
"After getting to Ohio and watching the likes of Pat Burrell and Brent Butler hit, I realized I had better step up my game on the field and in the weight room if I wanted to play at the next levels of baseball"
Pat Burrell (Philadelphia Phillies)
"I was out there in the middle of nowhere with no car and nothing to do but play baseball. There was no pressure. That summer (with the Warhawks) probably had a bigger impact on me than anything I've done in baseball. After I had that kind of success, I knew I could succeed"
Gary Gilmore (Coastal Carolina)
"Ron Slusher does an unbelievable job with those kids. The Warhawks Baseball Program and the opportunities it provides for these players is second to none. It is a gateway for kids to get exposure and showcase their skills to prospective colleges and professional scouts. I am extremely impressed with everything they do and consider their program to be a major pipeline of talent."
Kris Bryant (Chicago Cubs)
"Being a part of the Warhawks was a pleasure. No one takes better care of their players than Slush, he treats each of them like they were his own son"
Mike Clevinger (Cleveland Indians)
"I loved every minute of my time with the Hawks. I am forever grateful that I was and always will be a Warhawk"
Roy Halladay (Toronto Blue Jays)
"The Warhawks are not for everyone, Slush is a tough bird, but he will prepare you for life on and off the field"
Freddie Freeman (Los Angeles Dodgers)
"Playing with the Warhawks was a fun and memorable time"
Brandon Phillips (Cincinnati Reds)
"Coach Slush and the Warhawks have always supported me no matter what, I am forever grateful for all they have done and I am truly a Hawk for life"
Mookie Betts (Los Angeles Dodgers)
"Winning a championship in 2010 is something I will never forget"
Colby Rasmus (St. Louis Cardinals)
"The Warhawks allowed me to showcase my talents on the biggest stages in summer ball. They are a huge reason why I am where I am today."
Tony Rasmus (had four sons play for Warhawks)
"I had four boys play for Coach Slusher as they were growing up through their high school years. I had never met anyone in travel baseball that didn't try to suck every penny out of every parent that had a kid playing for them before.... Enter Coach Slusher... he treated me, my wife and my four boys like we were part of his own family. His organization picks up the tab for everything when a kid plays for them. It's really unbelievable the level to which Coach Slusher goes to treat his players like they are Big League ballplayers. Slusher surrounds himself with like-minded people who help him coach his Warhawk teams. The Warhawk organization is one of, if not the top travel baseball organizations in America. Baseball is what they are known for but teaching young men how to be good people is what they do best!
I can say this... three of my four sons played pro baseball and two played in the Major Leagues. I truly believe that if not for Coach Slush mentoring my boys on what it took to be a Big Leaguer and the Warhawks organization teaching them how to be good, hard-working people, none would have ever had the success they had in pro baseball and the big leagues.
I consider Coach Slush, Warren, and the rest of the Warhawks crew to be friends today and it has been fifteen years since one of my sons played for the Warhawks. A great organization filled with better people!"
Pete Sass (University of Dayton - Assistant Coach)
"Ronald Slusher does an amazing job trying to prepare young men for life and the next step (usually college and going away from home). He is a genuine person and the Warhawks do so much to help kids from all over the country. He cares a lot!"
